Gore Place refers to the early 19th-century estate of Massachusetts governor Christopher Gore. It features what is considered by many historians to be the most important Federal period mansion in New England, a palatial brick structure with tall chimneys, Pennsylvania marble floor tiles, and many more luxurious features. Gore Place occupies about 400 acres near Watertown Square, about five miles southwest of Boston; it includes a small farm with sheep, goats, and poultry.
